Cold Iron Studios joins Daybreak Games

A message from Scopely Chief Revenue Officer Tim O’Brien

I am thrilled to announce a new home for the talented team at Cold Iron Studios: Daybreak Games.

In January 2020, Scopely agreed to acquire FoxNext Games Los Angeles and Cold Iron Studios in San Jose.

Pre- and post-acquisition, the Cold Iron team has been hard at work developing a PC and console game set in the Alien universe.

As we shared in January, we believe in the team’s vision for where PC/console games are headed and felt the game would be best positioned to realize its ambitions with a partner focused on that space.

Over the last few months, we have been exploring the best path forward for the team to ensure they could build and publish the best PC/console product, and Daybreak Games is a perfect fit. Daybreak publishes and develops a range of massively multiplayer online games and emergent gameplay experiences.

Cold Iron co-founder and chief executive Craig Zinkievich has been a fantastic partner throughout this journey, and we wish him and his team well on their new adventure. Craig will continue to head the studio and oversee the development of the Alien game at Daybreak.

We can’t wait to play the new game when it comes to market.
