L.A. Biz names Walter Driver to 100 Rising Stars

Walter Driver, co-founder and co-CEO of Scopely has been selected to a national list of influential young executives.

The Business Journals’ Influencers: Rising Stars honors 100 young executives who are having an impact early in their careers on business being done in cities across the nation.

Representing both large, nationally recognized companies as well as smaller, locally-focused businesses, this group includes entrepreneurs, innovators, deal-makers and risk-takers shaping how business is done for years to come.

The Business Journals writes:

It's been a big year for Walter Driver's Scopely Inc. The interactive entertainment and mobile game company crossed the $1B mark for lifetime revenue with top-grossing mobile game franchises across multiple genres. It also acquired Irish game developer DIGIT Game Studios and announced plans to expand into the Asia-Pacific market with the hire of Justin Scarpone, a games veteran joining from The Walt Disney Co. All told for Driver, not bad for a creative writing major who first came to Hollywood to write screenplays. "Yeah, it's sort of an indirect path on the surface," he said, "but I think at the end of the day, when you're building a business that starts with just the seed of an idea, it's really a story about the future and what's possible to build."

Congratulations to Walter and the other honorees!
