Scopely celebrates women’s history!

This past month, Scopeleans around the globe came together as One Scopely to support women, forge equality and help #BreakTheBias to celebrate women’s history. Thank you to our many Scopeleans who participated in our events!

Throughout March, Scopely hosted multiple programs to celebrate women. From holding trivia competitions to watching MasterClass sessions, the month was full of opportunities to learn from and applaud women who are doing amazing things.

Below is a spotlight of the activities that took place:

TAKING THE 2022 INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY PLEDGE

Scopeleans around the world took the International Women’s Day pledge to collectively #BreakTheBias and make a commitment to allyship with women. By joining the global campaign, Scopeleans showed their support for this year’s focus of “breaking gender bias and reducing stereotypes and discrimination to promote diversity, equity and inclusion.” Scopeleans joined the pledge by taking a photo with their arms crossed to show solidarity against gender bias, discrimination and stereotyping both in and outside the workplace.

VIRTUAL TRIVIA ON INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY

On March 8, in honor of International Women’s Day, Scopeleans got together for three fun, interactive virtual trivia games across our global regions to put their knowledge of women’s history to the test. Each group recapped questions together and learned about women’s history facts and notable moments.

A MASTERCLASS ON REDEFINING FEMINISM

As a perk of working at Scopely, Scopeleans have access to monthly MasterClasses. Throughout this month, Scopeleans got together to watch the “Redefining Feminism” MasterClass with Gloria Steinem, Adrienne Maree Brown, Amanda Nguyen and Tina Tchen, four women’s rights activists, where they discussed the feminist movement in the U.S., ways they are creating change and how you can join the fight for equality.

THE LAUNCH OF OUR “WOMEN AT SCOPELY” EMPLOYEE RESOURCE GROUP (ERG)

This month was also an exciting time for Scopeleans as we officially launched our Women at Scopely Employee Resource Group (ERG). While much work has already been done over the last six months to prepare for launch, we are thrilled to have this important ERG now up and running with members around the world. The global Women at Scopely ERG is open to all Scopeleans and aims to help create a highly inclusive environment that supports and encourages women to advance their skills and leadership potential through connection, mentorship, collaboration and discussion. The group meets on a monthly basis for networking events, leadership panels, discussion sessions and more.

ADDITIONAL SUPPORT AND EDUCATION

Our Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging (DEI&B) team helped encourage Scopeleans to get involved and learn throughout the month by posting weekly facts and quotes of notable women around the world who helped open doors and break glass ceilings.

Leaders were also encouraged to host virtual “50 Ways to Fight Bias” Workshops from our partners at LeanIn.Org. These independent workshops consist of moderated conversations between Scopeleans where they discuss real-life scenarios of bias against women at work and collaborate together as a team to identify the best solutions.

We rounded out the month with an employee spotlight, celebrating our Senior Product Manager, Catherine Law, who was featured in Apple’s App Store as a part of their Women’s History Month celebrations of women who bring apps and games to life.

Thank you to all the Scopeleans who participated in our events this month. We look forward to continuing the celebrations all year long!
