Scopely appoints Phil Hardin as Chief Financial Officer

Seasoned finance veteran brings two decades of experience at high growth organizations, such as Amazon, to Scopely executive team

CULVER CITY, Calif. – November 15, 2022 – Leading video game company Scopely today announced that Phil Hardin has joined the organization as Chief Financial Officer (CFO). With a deep understanding of global financial operations at large-scale, high-growth organizations, Hardin will serve as a thought partner to every Scopely division to further optimize and grow the business.

Hardin brings a wealth of experience in a highly analytical culture with two decades of financial leadership. He spent more than 15 years at Amazon across several roles, including head of investor relations, global CFO for Amazon Advertising, and leading multiple finance teams across Customer Fulfillment, Kindle Content, Prime and other digital subsidiaries. Phil most recently served as CFO of one of the leaders in plant-based meat, Beyond Meat.

“With significant experience leading finance operations across a wide range of roles including one of the fastest-growing, global businesses within Amazon, Phil is indispensable for Scopely in our next phase of growth,”

added Javier Ferreira, co-CEO at Scopely.

“Scopely’s business success and highly social game portfolio is extremely impressive, but to me, the most exciting part of the company is the people. Every person I have met is immensely motivated, smart, passionate about delivering for players and has a true ‘embrace the adventure’ attitude. It’s clear to me the collaborative culture permeates from the top, and as a founder-led business with co-CEOs who deeply complement each other, the company has the edge as a true leader in games. I have personally witnessed the power and connection of games with my children, and am excited to dig into this world that continues to bring people together,”

said Hardin.

Hardin’s appointment follows Scopely’s ongoing momentum as one of the largest private companies in the games industry. Scopely’s success is driven by its unique approach to live-operating game experiences, technology platform Playgami, and proven ability to foster engaged player communities, as shown by the company’s games being played hundreds of millions of hours every month.

Hardin is another example of Scopely continuing to add senior operational leadership to the business, following the appointment of Eunice Lee as Chief Operating Officer late last year.
