About this Privacy Policy

This Scopely Privacy Policy (“Privacy Policy”) describes how and when Temple Run: Puzzle Adventure (the “Game”) may collect, use, secure, and share information collected in connection with the Game, and any related services that we offer to consumers through the Apple Arcade, and your choices regarding that information. The Game is published by Scopely, Inc. and for purposes of this Privacy Policy, “Scopely” (or “we” or “us”) refers to Scopely, Inc. and its parents, subsidiaries, representatives, affiliates, officers, and directors.

Please read this Privacy Policy carefully. We may update it from time to time and updates will be available here. If we make material changes, we will notify you prior to the changes becoming effective, through the Game or by other means. Your continued use of the Game after the effective date will be an acknowledgement of our updated practices.

Information We May Collect and How We Collect It

As you play the Game, non-personally identifiable data may be collected, such as your current game level, statistics, achievements, progress, player choices, in-game items, and achievements. We may also associate your Game Center ID with your saved games. We generate and retain this information to allow you to return to specific game locations in the Game, to ensure that your saved game reflects your latest progress and achievements, and to preserve your progress for your convenience. This information is stored locally on your device and may also be saved to Apple’s servers, such as iCloud or the Game Center, in accordance with the policies and terms governing your relationship with Apple. Scopely does not store your Game Center ID on its servers. However, performance data is provided by Apple AppAnalytics for the purpose of bug tracking and making design improvements. Additionally, if you choose to contact our Customer Support Team, we will store your email address so that we can reply to you, along with any other information you voluntarily choose to share with us. Should you contact our Customer Support Team or use our services outside of Apple Arcade, our standard Scopely Privacy Policy will apply.

How We Use Information

So that we may offer the Game to you, we may use your data to operate and maintain the Game (e.g., to maintain security and functionality, prevent fraud, etc.), or to comply with our legal or regulatory obligations. We may use the information we collect for various business purposes, such as to allow you to:

  • Play the Game;
  • Create and maintain accounts and profiles;
  • Track Game progress and save Game data across Apple devices;
  • Match players in multiplayer games;
  • Receive service communications;
  • Communicate with our Customer Support Team; or
  • Otherwise manage our relationship with you.

How We Share Information

We do not store saved Game data on our servers, and we do not allow third parties to access your saved Game data, or any other information that may be associated with you. However, some information you make available through the Game may be visible to other users of the Game, such as your Game public profile information.

Data Retention and Your Rights and Choices

You have rights to request access to, modification of, and deletion of any personal information collected by us. However, because we do not store your personal data, your Game information is controlled by you via your device or iCloud. You may decline to store data in iCloud by turning off iCloud in Apple Settings. If you decline to store data in iCloud, you may experience limited availability or functionality of the Game features (e.g., you may only be able to play in single-player offline mode or stored Game progress may be lost).

Use by Minors

In our games we handle data from children under 13 years of age, or equivalent minimum age in the child’s relevant jurisdiction, in the same way as other users and as described in this Privacy Policy. We limit our data collection and use to support the internal operations of the game only as described above. If you are a parent, you can decline to have that data collected from your child by turning off iCloud for our game and signing your child out of Game Center. If you wish to request deletion of the data we have collected as described in this Privacy Policy, please contact us privacy@scopely.com.

Additional Information for Residents of the EEA, United Kingdom, and Switzerland

If you are a resident of a member country of the European Economic Area (“EEA”), the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, we will comply with the rules and regulations specified by the European Union under the recently adopted General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). By using the Game, you consent to the processing of your data in the United States.

Additional Information for Residents of California

California law requires us to disclose information about the categories of personal information we collect and how we use them, the categories of sources from which we collect personal information, and the third parties with whom we share personal information. As described above, we do not collect personal information, and we have not collected personal information in the preceding 12 months. Scopely does not sell personal information for money or for other consideration.
