Overview
This Scopely Candidate Privacy Notice (“Notice”) describes how Scopely, Inc., Scopely Games Barcelona, S.L., and their affiliates (collectively "Scopely," "we" or "us") handle personal information collected when you or third parties acting on your behalf search or apply for a position with Scopely, including through Scopely’s career pages.

This Notice covers individuals anywhere in the world seeking employment with Scopely, as well as all types of contingent and non-permanent positions, including agents, independent contractors, consultants, temporary contract workers, professional advisors and interns. We may update this Notice periodically by posting a new version with an updated Effective Date. We encourage you to check back periodically in order to be aware of the most recent version of this Notice. Information We May Collect (Candidate Information)
We may collect and process the following types of candidate information:

  • Name and contact information, such as your address, telephone, email address and other contact information;
  • Application documents, such as academic/professional qualifications, CV/résumé, cover letters, transcripts, and information about your professional references and referrals (it being solely your responsibility to obtain consent from references before providing their personal information);
  • Type of work sought, desired compensation/benefits, willingness to relocate, and any other information you submit as part of the process (which may include sensitive information like race/ethnic origin, or information about any disabilities, if you voluntarily submit that information);
  • National identifiers and work authorization information, such as national ID/passport, immigration status, work authorizations, visas, and social security numbers (US only); and
  • Any other candidate information that you provide, including skills assessments, additional information about your work or educational experience, and information that may be required to perform a background check (where permissible and in accordance with applicable law) such as driver’s license or other government-issued identification numbers.

  • Use of Candidate Information
    We may use candidate information for various purposes, including to:
  • Assess your skills, qualifications, and background for a particular position, and reach hiring decisions,
  • Communicate with you regarding the candidate process and related opportunities,
  • Make any necessary arrangements for future employment; and
  • Generally manage and improve our recruitment and hiring processes.

  • We may use your candidate information to perform a background check if you are offered a position with us. If we determine that we cannot hire you as a result of information discovered during that background check, we will notify you of that determination. We may provide you copies of your background check information as required by applicable law.

    We may also use your candidate information to comply with applicable laws and regulations, or to protect the rights and interests of Scopely, our players, employees, applicants and others, as required and permitted by applicable law.

    If you accept employment with Scopely, your candidate information will form part of your employment record and will be used for employment purposes.

    How We Share Candidate Information
    We may share candidate information with various third parties as necessary in connection with the recruitment process, your future employment, and other lawful grounds. For example:
    Affiliated companies: We may share candidate information with our affiliates and subsidiaries around the world in connection with the recruitment process and for the purposes outlined above.
    Service providers: We may share certain candidate information with vendors, partners, and other third parties who carry out work on our behalf – for example, candidate sourcing, recruitment software, payroll support, benefits support and background checking services. We do so on a "need to know basis" and in accordance with applicable laws. We do not share your personal information with third parties for their direct marketing purposes unless you give us permission to do so.
    Other third parties: We may also share candidate information with other third parties on other lawful grounds, including:
  • To comply with our legal obligations, including where necessary to abide by law, regulation or contract, or to respond to a court order, administrative or judicial process, including, but not limited to, a subpoena or search warrant;
  • In response to lawful requests by public authorities (including for national security or law enforcement purposes);
  • With your consent;
  • As necessary to establish, exercise or defend against potential, threatened or actual litigation;
  • In connection with the sale, assignment or other transfer of all or part of our business.

  • Transfer of Information
    As we operate globally, we may need to transfer personal information to countries other than the ones in which the information was originally collected. If we export your personal information to a different country, we will take appropriate measures to protect your information in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.

    Data Retention
    Personal information will be stored only as long as necessary to carry out the purposes described in this Notice or as otherwise required or permitted by law. If you are not offered a position and don’t want us to keep your information on file for future opportunities, please contact us as described below, but please note that we may retain information to the extent required by law.

    Your Rights and Choices
    In some regions (like the European Economic Area), you may have the right to request access to your personal information, or to request correction, amendment or deletion of your personal information. In certain circumstances, you may also have the right to object to the processing of your personal information. To make this type of request, please contact us as described below (or in some cases, you can make a request directly through Lever, a third-party recruiting tool). Please note that we will need sufficient information establishing your identity in order to fulfill your request. Where we can validate your identity, we will process any such request within a reasonable timeframe and in accordance with applicable law.
